Detailed introduction:
Pterocarpus indicus bark extract has multiple effects, including combating various free radicals, strong antioxidant properties, anti-glycation, and inhibition of tyrosinase activity. However, its main active ingredients are fat-soluble, making it almost insoluble in water. It is also prone to oxidation and discoloration when exposed to light and high temperatures. These issues limit the application of Pterocarpus indicus bark extract in cosmetics.
Inclusion compounds are formed when one molecule is encapsulated within the cavity structure of another substance molecule, also known as "molecular capsules". Molecular encapsulation technology enhances drug solubility and dissolution, masks unpleasant odors and reduces irritation, improves drug stability, and enables the preparation of controlled-release formulations.
BeriCos® Ptero-Nano is a solution provided by Berry Pharmaceutical using inclusion compound technology to address the challenges of using pterocarpane in cosmetics. It features good solubility and high stability.
Stability:
The residual rate of active ingredients (calculated as pterocarpane) in BeriCos® Ptero-Nano aqueous solution and Pterocarpus indicus bark extract aqueous solution (solubilized with DMSO) after light exposure at room temperature was compared. The residual rate of Ptero-Nano was significantly higher than that of the Pterocarpus indicus bark extract aqueous solution, demonstrating a significant improvement in light stability.
Product efficacy: Antioxidant, skin conditioning agent.
