Phenylethyl resorcinol is a novel antioxidant that can inhibit browning. It is also one of the strongest tyrosinase inhibitors discovered to date, with superior whitening efficacy. It can effectively inhibit melanin synthesis and melanin deposition, as well as chloasma and freckles. However, its poor water solubility, susceptibility to oxidation, and tendency to discolor limit its application in cosmetics.
